Bandari FC travel to Thika on Saturday to take on Posta Rangers as Paul Nkata looks for his second win since taking charge of the Mombasa-based club.
Both teams picked up 1-0 wins in their opening fixtures of the season and sit side by side at fifth and sixth on the log.
Nkata expects a tougher outing against an experienced Posta against whom Bandari picked up four points from last season. The two sides drew 1-1 in the first leg at home while the second leg in Nairobi ended 1-0 in favor of the dockers.
“This is not an easy match because Posta is a very tactical side. I expect a tight match but we know that getting wins away from home is one of the most vital strengths towards a good season,” Nkata said.
On his way to winning the Kenyan Premier League title last season with Tusker, the Ugandan tactician had a better away record and he knows only too well the importance of this.
Ties between the two sides haven’t been of high scoring caliber and the only time more than one goal has come off this fixture is during the first leg last season when it ended 1-1. The other three meetings have seen Bandari win twice while Posta has won once, all in identical 1-0 scorelines.
“Posta is a high pressing team and it is not easy to score against them. That is one of the things we have taken into consideration in training and hopefully we can find a way to unlock them,” the tactician noted.
They will still be missing the services of Edwin Lavatsa and Shabaan Kenga who are sidelined with injury.
