After a perfect start to his stint at Chemelil with a 2-0 win over fellow millers Sony Sugar, Abdallah Juma will be looking to maintain a 100 percent start as he parades his side at home against Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday.
Homeboyz, coached by former Chemelil tactician Mike Mururi were not in action last weekend, and what a venue to kick start their campaign than where Mururi made his name.
Juma expects a tactical fight against the Kakamega based side and more-so because of their coach’s factor.
“He was in this team, knows the players and knows everything about how they play. It is very hard to play against such a person,” Juma noted.
The former KCB and AFC Leopards tactician is however encouraged with how his side has grown sincehe took charge, praising their hard working nature and discipline as well as the quick adaptation to his methods.
“I keenly looked at Chemelil and I discovered that when they were at their best, they played in a 4-3-3 formation. I found them playing the 4-4-2 diamond and I immediately changed because the team has very good players to thrive in a 4-3-3 formation. It worked against Sony and that is how I want us to play,” Juma disclosed.
They will be boosted with the return of goalkeeper John Waw from injury though Juma has hinted he might opt to keep Jairus Adira in goal after he did well against Sony last weekend. Midfielder Apollo Otieno has also recovered from injury but will not be available for selection due to fitness concerns.
Last season, either side won a match a piece away from home in identical 1-0 scores.
