Ghana's coach says his side can now aim for their third Under-17 Afcon title after booking their place in the last four with one group game to spare.

After opening their campaign with a 4-0 victory over Cameroon, Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin witnessed his Starlets hammering the tournament hosts Gabon 5-0 to make it two straight wins in Group A.

The win means Ghana have both feet in the semifinals and also a slot at the 2017 Fifa Under-17 World Cup slated for India later in October.

Speaking on the feat, Fabin said he was highly delighted to achieve the first objective of qualifying for the World Cup on his third attempt as coach of the Black Starlets.

“When we got here, I said my first objective was to qualify for the World Cup. Now that we have it, we are going to put all our efforts into getting to the final and then probably win the Cup which has eluded Ghana for a long time now,” he stated.

Captain Eric Ayiah increased his tally at the tournament to four goals with a brace against the junior Panthers in Port-Gentil.

Emmanuel Toku also scored twice before Patmos Arhin, who replaced the skipper, got on the scoresheet to see Ghana win 5-0 on Wednesday night.

Ghana will complete the group games against Guinea in Libreville on Saturday.
