Rwanda first choice goalkeeper Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye will miss the Chan 2018 last round qualifying first leg tie against Uganda on 12 August at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The reliable veteran custodian accumulated two yellow cards from the first round matchup against Tanzania over two legs and as a result Amavubi head coach Antoine Hey has summoned APR goalkeeper Yves Kimenyi to the provisional squad.

Nevertheless, Police goalkeeper Marcel Nzarora is set to fill in for Bakame in what will be a very crucial tie in determining whether Rwanda will make a third appearance at the continental tournament exclusive to only locally based players.

He has also summoned another four players including Amran Nshimiyimana, Christophe Biramahire, Ange Mutsinzi and Saddam Nyandwi to the 22-man provisional squad.

Midfielder Justin Mico is also out of the encounter as he continues to nurse a knee injury attained during the first round qualifier against Tanzania.

Rwanda edged Tanzania on away goals rule after the two sides shared the spoils in a 1-all draw in Mwanza before settling for a goalless draw in Kigali.

Their next opponents Uganda and archrivals made light work of South Sudan 5-1 on aggregate to proceed to the last round of qualification with the winner representing East Africa at Chan 2018 scheduled to be held in 2018.
